Sunset and Saying Goodbye to the Karoo, South Africa

South Africa was my first trip abroad alone and I was going for 17 days.  I spent 1 week in the Karoo, on a cheetah game preserve, and 1 week in Cape Town.  That first week transformed me, I found laughter and happiness again.  I cried on my last day in the Karoo - cried and cried, hugged the staff  and cried some more (and if you knew me - I never cry.....) and they were tears of pure JOY:

My Love Affair With France began...

...in 1997, my first trip abroad, destination Paris.  From the moment I stepped off the plane, I felt a warm hug (it was February), I felt at peace, I felt home.  I hope these pictures capture some of the magic I feel each time I put my feet down on French soil.
